Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is an American British sitarist and musician. She was awarded the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and first female recipient. Alongside receiving nine Grammy nominations and nine Grammy nominations, she also became the very first Indian-origin musician to be a presenter and performer during the ceremony live. Anoushka Sitar Shankar is an Indian young sitar singer. She is a student and daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. Her childhood was spent bouncing between London and New Delhi. In the age of thirteen, she gave her first show at New Delhi. She graduated in 1999 from her high schooling within Encinitas CA. Although she is still very young Anouskha is an accomplished performer and recording career. She regularly accompanies her father on stage, which she has been doing for several years. Her debut single album Anourag in the year 1998. The album was titled the album Live At Carnegie Hall, a Grammy-nominated album a year following. She's performed in all famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka isn't just a performer. Bapi The Love of My Life is an illustrated biographie she wrote in 2002. It is a tribute to her father, who passed away in 2002. Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she was a part on Dance Like a Man as a Bharat Natyam artist. Anoushka Shankar's professional career is continuing to unfold and we can expect to see many things from her in the years to be. Anoushka Shankar was born and raised in England and spent the majority of her childhood in London and Delhi after which she moved to California where she went to high school. At the age of 9, she started studying music with her father. Her first performance with the Sitar took place at her 75th Birthday celebration in Delhi, four years after. Anoushka was a part of her father during his world tour, gained an impressive quantity of knowledge. When she was in her teens, she appeared in Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, presented by British Parliament as recognition of her musicianship and artistry within the Asian Arts.
